蘭の沼の分室、マスデバリアのページにようこそおいでくださいました。南米の高地に生息し続ける、この奇異な形の蘭達は、虫やハチ鳥ばかりではなく、人の心も捉えて離さぬ魔力を持っているように思えてなりません。そしてまた、美しきものほど、高地に生息しており、栽培が難しいという現実は、日本のような暑い夏と共に過ごさねばならない趣味家にとっては、何とも悩ましい現実であります。このホームページでは、マスデバリアに関する、栽培に役立つ情報をまとめ、その美しい姿態を納めた画像を掲載してゆく予定です。これからもマスデバリアファン（中毒？）のみなさんのお力を借りて、さらに充実させて行きたいと思っています。
Thank you for visiting the Masdevallia in Orchid Swamp webpage. These unusually shaped orchids grow in the highlands of South America, and attract not only insects and humming birds but people too! These orchids tease the growers; more beautiful species grow in high elevations, and thus are much more difficult to cultivate. The lowland species are much easier to grow, especially for us in Japan where the summer is hot and humid, but they are less colorful. I would like to share the information and photos of these wonderful Masdevallias I gathered with the help of fellow enthusiasts.
現時点では、全原種約420種のうちの130余種を中心にまとめています。[原種一覧]をご覧下さい。コメントで文章の最後に「AOS…」と書かれた記事は、AOSの機関誌からの抜粋です。画像は、一覧の横にあるサムネイル画像をクリックすることで、640×480ドットの大きさでの画像を見ることができます。又、画像一覧では、画像データのある種だけのリストを表示します（交配種は未、フレーム表示でのみ対応）。現在、70余枚用意してあります。画像は、若干の修正を加えているため、本来の色などとは異なる部分もあるかも知れませんが、御容赦下さい。又、原種一覧のページは、かなり巨大なテキストと多数のサムネイル画像から出来ています。全部ダウンロードするまでに時間がかなりかかる可能性がありますが、御容赦下さい。
交配種のページも作成しました。[交配種一覧]をごらん頂けると分かりますが、交配の親にはすべてリンクを張っています。テキストだけでもかなりの量ですので、あえて画像パーツは含めませんでした。将来、画像へのリンクを張って行く予定です（今は交配種の画像はありません）。人名は交配者ではなく、登録者を記しました。
こちらに置いていた、AOSのカルチャーシートの邦訳版、在米日本人向けに書かれた初心者向け栽培ガイドは、改訂して蘭の沼への誘いに移動しました。
また、いつぞやのフォーラムの講演のメモを元に、Warm typeのマスデバリアの交配種に関するテキストを作成しましたので、ご覧下さい。
